This is the feeling I get when hugging a struggling alcoholic when they first get sober. That feeling of comforting them while in that same moment receiving the richness for myself of being of service to another human being.
That’s when I ask, “Who is rescuing who, here?”
It’s me that is being helped.
God doesn’t always give us what we want—how we want it, but He does give us what we need when we need it. God has placed women in my life to sponsor who have taught me so much. If I am willing, I am teachable. This was not a trait I possessed while self-medicating. You could not tell me anything I didn’t already know. Stubborn. Ears slammed shut.
Whew, I’m glad that is not my attitude today.
Now, I can’t wait to hear what you have to say.
I know now, that God is speaking to me through you. But I have to pay attention and listen to hear Him...through you!
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
Jeremiah 33:3
