I am a control freak.
I think if I can control the details of everything, it will all be ok, right?
Wrong.
I find that I can wrap my brain around so many details that there is NO room for the spiritual light to come in and work its magic.
“Be still and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10
That's where this verse comes into my mind. I find that I am closer to people, to animals, to nature and to God when I free my mind of details of this world.
God can’t be invited into my life to sit down and have a conversation when I am so busy with other thoughts and “to-do’s” taking up space in my head.
If I have difficulty with this, I pray for release of not needed information and details. Praying only for the knowledge of His will for me and the power to carry that out.
Then—and only then, will I know peace.
“Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
Genesis 9:16
