Well, if there was ever a time to drink over something, it is now.
But, don't worry, I am not going to drink over any of this—and, I hope you won't either. If I can do it, so can you.
So much sadness and loss. So many people losing everything—not only from COVID repercussions of the shut down, but now, from the fires raging in our Santa Cruz Mountains and all across the state.
Talk about helplessness. Powerlessness.
God is doing something. I don't know what—I need to trust. What I DO know is that I am available to serve in whatever capacity I can.
I am sober, whole, present for someone in need.
There will be beauty from the ashes.
"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted...
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.”
Isaiah 61:1-3
