I think God is calling me to slow down and do SOME of the things with all of me and not ALL of the things with some of me.
I have always had a problem putting too much on my schedule and getting it all done, but being frazzled and not doing any one thing very well. I didn’t want to be left out or miss anything—so I over-committed, giving just some of myself to too many things.
Always worried about “everything I had to do.”
Then, I am jerked back to this moment by somebody in need. God has a way of saying, “Whoa, whoa, whoa girl, look at what is happening right here in front of you, right now!”
Take the bread crumbs left on the ground and follow them. We don’t get to know where the bread crumbs always lead, but when we trust that this is where we are supposed to be and God has a plan for that moment and the moments to follow, peace always comes.
Ahhhhhhhhh... Thank you, God, for slowing me down to see what you have planned for me, right here.
Right now.
God has my attention now. All of the time.
I’m all in.
7th Step Prayer
My Creator, I am now willing that you should have all of me, good and bad. I pray that you now remove from me every single defect of character which stands in the way of my usefulness to you and my fellows. Grant me the strength, as I go out from here, to do your bidding. Amen.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2
